Coordinated Entry (CE) is a system designed to connect individuals, youth, and families experiencing homelessness with housing options, supportive services, and other resources. Coordinated Entry recognizes that in order to end homelessness for all households, we must work as a system that accounts for the changing dynamics or available resources, demand for those resources, and the ability to appropriately connect the most vulnerable households to those resources. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mandates that all projects funded by the Continuum of Care Program, Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG) and Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) program participate in a CE system. In addition, the CE system aims to connect individuals, youth, and families to other housing, supportive service, and mainstream benefits/ resources to facilitate safe, sustainable housing solutions. The New Hampshire CE system is comprised of three Continua of Care (CoC’s) including Manchester (NH – 501), Greater Nashua (NH-502) which includes the City of Nashua and nine surrounding communities in Hillsborough County, and Balance of State (NH – 500) which is the remainder of the state.
