PIT HIC Training Webinar

We will provide an overview of the PIT and HIC, an overview of what data is collected, how to find the detailed information on the data collection tools (which include embedded training videos), and an opportunity to answer your questions. We encourage you to read through the linked tipsheets and watch the embedded training videos for your data collection tools in advance of the webinar.

How do we prepare for the Sheltered PIT and HIC Count?

You can prepare now by familiarizing yourself with what data needs to be collected, and then setting aside time on PIT night and afterwards to review data quality and completeness.

All projects are required to submit two pieces of data.

The first part is the Persons Served, or information on persons served on the night of the  PIT. This includes full demographic information for projects on the PIT (ES/SH/TH) and household type information for projects only on the HIC (RRH/PSH/OPH).

The second part is the Project Information and Bed Inventory for all projects. This includes information on your project, organization, location, funding, and beds available.

What am I being asked to do now?

HMIS-participating projects

  • Run the ES/SH/TH Persons Served Report or the RRH/PSH/OPH Persons Served Report, depending on your project type. By running it now, you will be able to check the data quality of those clients currently enrolled in your project, ensure all clients are properly enrolled in HMIS, and will simplify the data quality process following PIT night. This does not need to be submitted to ICA.

  • Register to attend a live training webinar to go over the process and have your questions answered. See below for details.

  • Ensure your project is prepared to collect all necessary information before the night of the PIT and HIC and prepare to work with your System Administrator following PIT night on reviewing your Persons Served and Project Information and Bed Inventory data.

Non-HMIS-participating projects

  • Register to attend a live training webinar to go over the process and have your questions answered. See below for details.

  • Ensure your project is prepared to collect all necessary information before the night of the PIT and HIC.

  • After the night of PIT and HIC, collect and submit your Persons Served data to ICA.

    • All data is due back to ICA by end of day Wednesday, February 5th.

  • Prepare to work with your System Administrator following PIT night on Project Information and Bed Inventory data.
